About Massoud Hayoun:

Massoud Hayoun is an award-winning investigative journalist, based in Los Angeles, who has reported internationally for outlets including Al Jazeera, Agence France-Presse, South China Morning Post, and CNN. He speaks and works in five languages and won a 2015 EPPY Award.

Hayoun is the Arab American Book Award-winning author of When We Were Arabs: A Jewish Family’s Forgotten History. The book is both a decolonial memoir of his grandparents, who raised him and are coauthors of the book, as well as a political theory of Arabness and belonging.
